Umno and its partners in Barisan Nasional have always adopted an open-door policy on muzakarah or also known as dialogues on matters of national interest.

Hishamuddin was asked to comment on reports that PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz was aborting PAS intention to hold a "muzakarah" with Umno following PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi rejecting the move.
